Festival at Sea

Boating is serious business in the Caribbean and “weekend boating” means the same to locals here as Sunday roast and a packet of Rich Tea does to any Brit – it’s a standard occurrence. A ritual you learn alongside breathing. Every Saturday and Sunday residents pile on to their crafts and head out onto the ocean. Some go out fishing or snorkeling but most will simply drop and anchor or raft up on the other side of the island to enjoy the crystal clear water with a beverage and some snacks. Hours slip by as music plays and people meander between the bobbing boats, catching up with old friends.
