I wrote a post what feels like yesterday about my first foray into baby photography - remember this little cutie?
Well Amelia just turned ONE! In just 12 months she has developed the motor skills and personality of a young adult so when her parents asked me if I'd mind snapping a few pics to commemorate her birthday I knew I was going to have to get creative - this little lady waits for no one!
Luckily we had a few distractions on hand to slow her down for a few split seconds.
Before the cake arrived....Dad had his heart set on a big smash but Miss Independent had other ideas....ladies and gentlemen behold the cake dump!
After which of course the sensible thing to do is to cover yourself in it.
Luckily clever Mum had a bath prepared.
And regular business could be resumed!
The celebrations didn't end there as Amelia's legendary parents decided to observe the fact that they'd survived a whole year of parenthood with a boat party for their friends - leaving the baby in the safe and capable hands of granny and grandad - genius!
The theme? Childhood of course! Which wouldn't be complete without a family of Care Bears.
And a couple of super hero's.
As well as a bit of Disney and the standard fancy dress party randomness. Pony Club? Sure! Ride on in....
Boat parties in the Caribbean are a popular way to celebrate - a day out in the sun with friends, sailing the high seas, music blaring and drinks flowing.
It's also a great way to enjoy the outdoors in the hot summer months as you'll know if you read this recent post. And when the sun begins to fade the boat deck serves as the perfect dance floor.
I'm not sure who had more fun - us or the pony?
Great times all round - Happy Birthday Amelia, thanks for letting us celebrate with you!
