We used to wakeboard a lot in the UK and when we moved we brought all of our gear with us - wakeboards, impact vests, helmets, the lot - and didn't touch them for 3 years. We did ride once in Miami last year but the first time we took our own kit for a spin in Cayman was just last month with Wakeboard Cayman I suppose you're wandering why it took so long - basically it's the lack of decent wakeboarding boats out here. Or the lack of friends with a decent wakeboarding boat. Wakeboard Cayman is a fairly new operation and the only company offering a proper wake boat for hourly rental. It comes with a driver (Chris), board, knee boards, wakeskate, tube and good tunes!
Chris is a skilled rider but he's also very chilled and anyone looking to have their first lesson or practice their old tricks can book. We were a group of 6 (very hungover) people of a mixed standard and he catered to everyone's needs within our 2 hour session.
The good news? Turns out I can still wakeboard! I WILL land that backroll this weekend....
If you want to give wakeboarding a try don't look any further than Wakeboard Cayman. Give them a call on 9369253, check out their Facebook page or drop them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have fun!
