Every so often in Cayman a Nor'wester rolls in to smash the otherwise serene 7-mile beach with big swells and a hefty breeze. Over the past few days we've experienced one of them. It's pretty dramatic - the sunny skies cloud over, the temperatures drop (to 22 degrees) and the waves grow right before your eyes. On Sunday we made the most of it by kiting right outside our house under the watch of a bunch of amused tourists!
The waves were much bigger than me and probably some of the biggest I've ever been in.
My favorite thing about the day was that I was out kiting with 2 of my favorite kite buddies - Rich and Matt. Matt has recently moved to Grand Cayman and it's been so nice to have a few great kite sessions with him over the past few weeks! He was actually the person that got us into the sport in the first place and spent hours teaching us so patiently in the freezing UK waters 4 years ago!
